Somatic Touch and Intuitive Movement

Curriculum

Learn to provide mindful and compassionate listening touch and healing movement for yourself and for others through perception training and somatic movement. Students learn to notice the distribution and quality of their attention to provide mindful and compassionate listening touch to trigger self-regulation and self-development.

In this workshop, students cultivate friendly and collaborative relationships with their own bodies and with the bodies of other humans through compassionate perception, sensing, and intuitive movement.

Because the human body is a living collection of multiple systems and processes (e.g. the nervous system, the limbic system, the endocrine system, the executive control system, etc.) our education is designed to develop a student's understanding of these distinct and cooperative systems through first-hand observation, reflection, and theoretical education. All theory is relevant to our practices and vice-versa.

Topics include anatomy, physiology, evolutionary biology, and Buddhist psychology.

Students will participate and collaborate by touching and moving with other students, reflecting, and by sharing their ideas and experiences.
