Bac. Dieter Rehberg, RSMT, is performer, Psychological Counselor (LSB), Somatic Movement Therapist (ISMETA) Somatic Dance Educator and Massage Therapist. He developed his method integrating different dance, bodywork and counseling techniques from his professional work as somatic therapist and performance artist and combined it with his insights into buddhist theory and practice. He is the director of the "Institut und Akademie für Physio-Mentale Entwicklung" and host of the WienJam. For over 20 years, he has worked in his private practice in Vienna and teaches nationally and internationally. His main concern in his workshops and seminars is a clear and coherent communication of the content in a mindful atmosphere and to never leave any questions open .

"I created  "Physio-mentale Entwicklung" (PME) for you realizing that with all the different methods I have learned, the quality of execution, how you are sensing, moving and touching, is crucial to its success. In Buddhist psychology I found good guidelines for really helpful and healing actions. And  I also created PME because I wanted to have a working method at hand that is safe, simple, comprehensive and sustainable at the same time."

I found Feldenkrais when years living an intense life punctuated by intense yoga & fitness had left me exhausted with chronic body pain, inflammation, anxiety, frustration and the desire to feel nothing. The first time I tried an Awareness Through Movement lesson it was an audio file online that focused on “releasing the shoulders.” I had pushed the furniture away and was lying in the middle of my livingroom floor. After less than an hour of unusual, gentle movements with my attention carefully focused on my sensation (rather than the technique) and the constant reminder to find out how to do what I was doing with “less effort” I found myself remarkably transformed. My body rested more fully and comfortably on the floor, my breathing was markedly easier but the most amazing part was this felt sense that I could do things differently. I could LEARN how to move and breathe (and, eventually, BE) in a way that was easeful and comfortable. This was a revelation that has changed my life

After graduating from a 4-year Feldenkrais Method Professional Program and becoming an ISMETA® Registered Somatic Movement Therapist/Educator – and from years practicing Thai Massage, teaching yoga, exploring creative movement and movement therapy and a lifetime of observing people and what drives them – I help people learn how to reconnect to their body, to realize where they are causing themselves unnecessary pain or strain, to discover new healthier self-use, to be empowered to trust and learn from their own embodied experience and to discover a unique inner calm, stillness and knowing that arrives spontaneously in an embodied state change.
