Any moment you are not experiencing persistent pain is exactly that: a moment without pain.  What part of your body is asking for attention right now? Bring your attention there. Sense what is there. Sense gently and mindfully. How would you interact with a dear friend? Be brave and follow what feels good in your body.

Your body is always with you and wants to be its best for you. Your body cares about you and through mindful dialogue, you will learn this and how to give yourself what you need.

How we respond to pain creates patterns of tension or relaxation. How subtly can you sense yourself and observe your response?

Raw sensory information is rapidly summarized and translated into broader categories like emotion, perspective, and belief. Through this process, we can respond to stimuli from the environment very quickly. But what happens when we slow it down and analyze this process?

Sensation creates response → response creates more sensation → observation of response creates beliefs about oneself  → beliefs shape response.

The sensory experience is infinite and new every moment. But persistent pain can lead us to revisiting the same unpleasant sensations on repeat! Where else can it lead us?

How does it feel to follow what feels good?
