One-on-One Somatic Coaching
Individual coaching to discover healing postures, movements, and beliefs about yourself by sensing the body with compassion and curiosity.
The aim of our Somatic Coaching is to practice bringing awareness to sensation and to explore sensory information with an open, curious mind. Touch, movement, words, and mental images are tools we use to achieve this.
The theory is that when you bring your awareness to sensation, you self-regulate. The quality of awareness must be one of compassion, openness, and curiosity. With this quality of awareness focused on sensation, you register more information about your body in space, tension levels, and the relationship between thought patterns and physical body patterns. Your body has the natural tendency to self-organize for more efficient, elegant, and fluid posture and movement when it can access this information.
When you were a baby, first learning to mobilize your body, you were immersed in sensation. You used this information to learn, at the most detailed level, how to move. You had little or no concepts available to summarize this information, you analyzed and concluded less. Your goal was to learn to move and you did it through exploration. You developed how you move, how you categorize, and how you respond to stimuli.
What happens when you enter into this dialogue with sensation now? How is it to explore sensation compassionately and in a more fundamental format? Each moment is new and infinite. What do you want to explore?
